There's one major flaw to this project that I see. I would guess that about 85% or more of the people who purchase mobile devices place a lot of weight on how the device looks into their decision.

These devices WILL be hideous lol.

Oh don't worry it'll be expensive as hell because no manufacturers will jump on board with this. Samsung, LG, HTC, APPLE, MS/NOKIA, Sony will make sure of that.

There's a lot of convincing Google would have to do to get them all on board seeing how start up cost would be major. And it pretty much goes against everything they all are aiming for right now.

nothing a fancy case wont be able to hide.
but i would agree that the phone manufacturers would make it cost ineffective to buy this phone. samsung wifi add-on $60, Nokia Camera $150...

But it won't be just the Nokia and Samsung of the world supplying modules. It should be a big push more for the actual component makers companies,  the broadcom, microns,  etc
