Friends,
Hello! I think we are all registered for the Google Group, "NextGen Digest".
Here's some ways you can use this group:
An Email Listserv
If you don't know what a listserv is, it is an email address that,
when members send a message to it, it distributes it amongst the
other members. In our case, the email address to do so is
like I am doing now, and it will email everyone on the list. Reply to
that message, and it will email you reply to everyone. It's a simple
way to have email dialogs with the group without having to login to a
message board. The downside is it can clog up your inbox quickly.
You can also read these emails under "Discussions" at the group site.
A forum to create and edit text
Check out the "Pages" tab to create pages. After you are done, you
can publish the page for other members to see, and edit. Also, you
can see what others have written and edit that yourself. You can then
see previously saved versions for comparison.
Upload files and documents to share
Finally, you can use this group hub to upload files to share. Say you
have a PDF to show the group, because it relates to a topic, or a discussion point during the next meeting.
Upload it to the site (under the "Files" tab), and then email the
group about it. Or we can just see it when we login next.
If anyone has any questions about how to use this, email or call me.
I am far from an expert, but I can probably help you figure it out.
Also, Lettie, would you invite some of the other people who have shown interest in the group? You can tell them to go to this web address to join:
My contact info is below. Ciao!
