Summer University 2010: Tamera - Test Field for a New Culture We invite you to the 16th Summer University in the peace research center Tamera, Portugal, July 26 through August 4, for ten days of think tank for global peace work and building community. Another world is possible, but how? We as human beings are facing natural disasters, financial crises and increasing violence between countries, friends and lovers. At the same time we are facing a growing worldwide movement of people who leave their normal way of life, stepping out of the race of fear and competition and searching for alternatives. In order to gain knowledge about how this world could look like we offer the exchange and cooperation with those who have worked and researched for ecological and social sustainability. The Summer University 2010 is a meeting place for those who refuse to loose their hope and insist on keeping their visionary power even in difficult times. We expect hundreds of participants from all over the world, including: Dieter Duhm and Sabine Lichtenfels (the founders of Tamera), Pia Gyger and Niklaus Brantschen (Lassalle institute, Switzerland), Jurgen Kleinwachter (Solar Village, Germany), Sami Awad (Holy Land Trust, Palestine), Members of the Peace Village San Jose in Colombia and many more. What is Tamera? Tamera is a test field for a new culture and futuristic community model in Portugal with 200 inhabitants who work on local answers for global challenges. Fifteen years after it was founded, it is a place to study and experience the basic technological, ecological and social knowledge for a life without war and separation, for cooperation with nature, for building community and for peace between men and women. You are warmly welcome! For more information: http://www.tamera.org/index.php?id=657&L=1%2Ffiles |
