I used two setups prior to this. Originally, I used a dedicated program called Koigoe used by Japanese Vtubers to change my voice outside of OBS. Both RoVee and Koigoe have a critical feature compared to other voice changers: they have dials that set the formant and pitch modification manually, allowing for fine tuning.
My second setup was similar to my current one, except that I had a VST plugin called Voxengo Recorder and a virtual cable to output the audio to my desired programs. Currently, I do not use these two things, and you can hear me unfiltered on Discord, and other streams via Discord.
The original program I used for voice changing was called Koigoe, which I believe was used by early Japanese streamers. It has a bunch of useful features including wav file and batch processing, and a pitch monitor graph to observe your vocal range in real time.
While it has some presets, it also has sliders for you to set your own formant and pitch shift level. This lets you tune your voice more precisely, compared to other voice changer programs, which largely consist of presets.
During regular speech, the pitches you make can range over an entire octave. With trial and error, and studying the graph, I pushed my voice to stay within the lowest part of contralto, which is the lowest female singing range.
Your voice is a foundation of your identity. Changing it, and having people learn that you are changing it, will get a bad reaction from some people. It is, objectively speaking, a deception from your natural voice. A lie.

The interface is pretty easy to use although it looks like the 90s winamp. The best news is that it also has a paid version, the MorphVOX Pro, which comes with a new interface! Besides that, it will add voice effects, backgrounds and voice changing algorithms.
You can choose one of the 12 effects, which range from women to helium and robot, save the recording and even set it as your ringtone, which is an interesting feature. It also gives you the possibility to share it with your friends, which also is a good thing to have as everything is social nowadays.
As the name says, this app is mainly for kids and you notice that as soon as you see the first print screen in Google Play. The background, the buttons, the colors, everything yells kids, which is not that bad since the other apps are general, are not designed specifically for a certain age or gender.
Apart from changing your voice during live call, you can pre-record sounds and use them in voice calls. Also, you can easily hide your identity when prank calling, as it you can show different number when calling your friends or family. Similar to Call Voice Changer, you have to buy prepaid minutes before you can start prank calling.
When you start the application Voice Changer logo icon will appear in Windows traybar. When you right click on this icon main control menu will appear. Double-clicking on icon turns on and off the application. When Hear microphone option is checked you will be able to hear your modified voice. From VST Effects menu you can manage and configure your VST plugins .
Main Voice Changer Window - here you select active voice effect. When enabled the icon gets colored. If you want to stop all effect press Clear effect button. This window is opened from Set Voice Changer option in main menu.
Music Playlist Window - here you can mange and control your background microphone's music. Supported commands - play, stop, pause, resume, next/prev track, volume control.
Adding music source from Internet (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.) is possible by installing - required filter.
To use Clownfish as voice changer you have to install it on the capture device you want to modify. By default Clownfish is installed on default audio capture device. If you want to install it on other devices you can do this here. Installing/Removing Clownfish requires Administrative rights. This window is opened from Setup option in main menu.
Q: Why the application does not install on my machine?
A: Make sure you've downloaded correct installation package. 64bit version wont install on 32bit OS and vice versa. Note that you will need administrative rights to make installations.
Q: Application installs correct but the voice is not changed. What can I do?
A: Go to audio settings, recording devices. Right click on microphone ->Properties. If the dialog has an "Enhancements" tab, go to that tab. Make sure the "Disable all enhancements" check box is unchecked, even if you don't use any of the enhancements in the list.If the dialog does not have an "Enhancements" tab, go to the "Advanced" tab. Make sure the "Enable audio enhancements" check box is checked.
There are four different installation modes ( Clownfish's Setup menu ) - try each of them and check if this will help you ( remove device, change mode and install device)
Q: In some cases I cannot add custom sounds. Help?
A: Try running Clownfish as Administrator. The other option is to add them manually ( paste sound files in C:\Program Files (x86)\ClownfishVoiceChanger\sounds ) and restart CF.
Q: How can I restore my sound card settings?
A: In general if you uninstall Clownfish the old behaviour should be restored. However if something goes wrong you can reinstall your audio driver software.
Q: Clownfish dialog is transparent. Icons are not accessible. What's wrong?
A: If you experience problems with user interface you can force the application to work in non-colored mode. You have to edit Clownfish's shortcut and add startup parameter -nocolor in Target textbox.
