Any Linux users out there? I had RS:Remastered running under Steam Proton with CDLC flawlessly for a year on Proton-5.9-GE. I stupidly updated this Proton bottle to Proton-6.21-GE and now none of my CDLC are showing up in game at all (Cherub still shows, so I have that).
I tried finding the cracked .dll that you need to drop in the main RS folder, but now it looks like there is an .exe users have to run? I found the old D3DX9_42.dll online and dropped this into the folder, but CDLC still isn't showing -- since this is Linux, could it be that I need to rename it without capital letters since Linux is case-sensitive?
I have problems too. I can't get the CDLCs to show up. Where did you find the dll? My problem may be something else too since I can't even get Cherub Rock to show up (It's in the dlc-folder though). I even reinstalled rocksmith but no dice. Maybe if I switch from experimental to some other Proton version..
Did you only copy the .dll into the Rocksmith's root directory or did you have to put it under compatdata?
Thanks, that dll worked. I couldn't get Rocksmith (launched straight from Steam) to see any of the DLCs, not even Cherub Rock. I installed RS using Lutris and Cherub Rock showed up.. then I put the .dll in the wineprefixes windows/windows32 -directories, used winecfg to add d3dx9_42.dll into libraries, switched it to "native".. copied the downloaded CDLCs into the dlc -directory where the cherub rock was already.. and now everything works.
Anyone got even the official DLCs to work with RS launched straight from native Steam?
Anyway, remember that proton 6 introduced major changes to the way it stores and manages wine bubbles, it's advised to remove game bubble located in compatdata and start fresh.
I don't remember having any issues with the game or dlc's but I'll probably refrain from upgrading.
(I remember tweaking something with the audio, probably setting up the Real Tone cable)
Btw, I used Proton 5.11-GE-3-MF.
I didn't see your earlier post re: Cherub not showing up, but it sounds like you got that fixed thanks to G33k3ry. I'm not sure why they released an .exe either - I guess to make it simpler for the masses to install CDLC, but you can't get much more simple than dropping a .dll in a folder...
The official DLCs work for me on Steam (my Proton version I'm running is in my first post, so it may be different for you). I'm able to purchase and install official DLC from Steam just as easily as if I was on Windows.
The way I've always installed CDLC is by searching this site at top left ("Ignition 4 Search") and downloading the "song name"p.psarc file. I created a folder in my main Rocksmith directory called "CDLC" and I just drop the p.psarc file in there. As long as the .dll is in the main folder and you have Cherub rock in the DLC folder, it should appear.
I've got some playing to do to get the CDLC working as RS can see it just fine but I get the blank page with the speakers. However, from what I can see that's because proton/wine/rocksmith isn't using the patched .dll. Looks like I've got some playing to do.
My old Sony Vegas 14 pro worked fine. While updating to Windows 10 I got Sony Vegas 18 pro - for some stupid reason. Sometime during this summer I found myself for a while adding a deleting a dll file from the programs plug-ins-folder, to be able to work with MTS files and on the other hand some HQ - MP4 files. One file worked when deleting the dll. -file and the other worked when keeping it. Frustrating - but It Worked! Obs! File is compoundplug.dll. AND NOW, Sony Vegas wont play my HQ MP4-files at ALL. Now from what I understand Sony Vegas has stopped being compatible with certain high resoluted MP4 files. Anyone got an idea how to get it to work, or do I have to give up on Sony Vegas?? Alot of money spent so far and I like the program. User since 2010. Thanks!
Unless you've just bought a new computer with W10, if you've just updated W7 or W8.1 to W10, is it possible that you have a computer dating back to W7/8 days? If so, it is very likely to struggle or fail in some functions with Vegas Pro 18 and 19.
@Jerry-Carlsson Please reinstall your VEGAS Pro 18 and do not delete files like this. If you have some issues with some codecs please ask this community or switch to the legacy codecs in the preferences.
Hi guys! Thank you so much for your feedback!! Im working on it! I think it might have do with that I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. I tried to run Sony Vegas 14 with a few different files on my OTHER computer with Windows 7. Video-files worked! But I was informed during the import that I needed the HEVC-Codec - and that was installed for me automatically during the import process! So naturally you would guess that getting the HEVC-codec for windows 10 is the trick. But I will try your suggesions first though! Thanks!
If he has legal versions, the OP should trawl through all the documentation that he has received about his Vegas Pro purchases - as well Vegas Pro installs - and try and find where Vegas Pro 14+ has been branded Sony. They haven't been so branded? Please keep up to date with your terminology. Now just waiting for the backlash.
So sorry- I dont know where I got "Sony" from.. I guess its from back in 2010 when I bought some cheaper version of it. And the name got stuck with me somehow. Never used a cracked version. Viva Vegas - I guess that would be ok to say :-)
This is not my thread but I came upon it and had to comment on the chastising reply you posted here. These were all originally SONY products so the confusion is understandable. Magix should have completely changed the name of these apps when they took over but they didn't - likely because they wanted to keep the Sony stigma alive for financial benefit.
Do you work for Magix? If so perhaps you can explain why all of these products have become a bug-fest since Magix took over. The entire line - Acid Music Studio, Vegas Pro, Movie Studio - were all rock solid when they were Sony products - but not anymore. I found this out only after spending money to "upgrade" all of these apps and, IMO, they're all buggy junk now.
It doesn't surprise me that Sony wants to be disassociated with these products. "Sony" is a professional brand.

Sony Vegas Pro 11 would almost certainly have provided a stigma reputation for Sony because 'stigma' is a negative term having a meaning along the lines of: "a mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person". It makes no sense at all for MAGIX to want to keep alive negative feelings about Sony products when MAGIX acquired Sony's range of products. A very bad business decision to build upon the negatives of a former owner's issues with their former products. Perhaps you meant to write something like, "... keep Sony's reputation of quality products alive ...".
