The Westchester Cooperative Network (WCN) was recently founded to foster a solidarity economy in Westchester County, NY. 

WCN is committed to:

• Spreading awareness of the worker-owned cooperative model

• Supporting the development of worker-owned cooperatives.

• Coordinating a partner network of cooperatives and other educational, governmental, community and service organizations

Job description for part-time program assistant (about 15 hours/week)

• Expected responsibilities

  • Maintain online presence by updating website and social media sites (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc)

  • Help create materials for presentations (slides, announcements, flyers) and other promotional materials.

  • Connect with organizations and community groups about cooperatives

  • Help advocate for local and State funding for cooperatives

  • Maintain communication via email and telephone

  • Set up/organize bi-weekly Board meetings (doodle polls, invitations, agenda, minutes)

  • Write proposals for fundraising

• Preference will be given to:

  • Experience/knowledge in worker cooperatives

  • Bilingual (Spanish) 

  • Familiarity with Westchester County and Lower Hudson Valley

  • Excellent writing and communication skills

  • Software and social networks skills

• Stipend range: $20 to $25 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
