I recently studied some examples in NX, but those examples did not involve ionization. I would like to ask:
Can NX generate initial conditions for dynamics from the ground state to an ionized state?
I tried optimizing the structure and calculating frequencies using neutral structures to generate initial conditions. Then, I modified the Gaussian input files in the trajectory folder to correspond to the charge and spin multiplicity of the ionized state. By doing this, the generated trajectories would be akin to sampling in the neutral ground state and then undergoing vertical ionization. Should the resulting trajectories be multiplied by the Franck-Condon factor? Is this approach correct?
Regarding excited states from the ground state to an ionized state, such as excitation from the neutral ground state to the first excited state of the monovalent state:
I haven't figured out how to approach this yet and would appreciate some guidance. Thank you very much!
