On 9/17/18 at 4:00a.m., the Newton Police received a 9-1-1 call reporting a motor vehicle accident on Swartswood Road.
Upon arrival, officers observed that a vehicle had struck a utility pole, a speed limit sign and a mailbox before becoming disabled.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the lone occupant of the vehicle, identified as Timothy Plumb, age 29, of Lenape Avenue in Andover, N.J. was intoxicated and had operated the 2013 Chrysler 300 while under the influence.
As a result, Plumb was charged with the following:
39:4-50 Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence
39:4-97 Careless Driving
39:4-88 Failure To Maintain Marked Lanes
Plumb sustained a minor abrasion on his right arm but did not seek treatment.
He was released pending a 9/25/18 appearance in Newton Municipal Court.
