On 10/26/18 at approximately 9:00p.m., Ptl. Donald
Meisinger was conducting stationary radar on Main Street when he observed a vehicle
exceeding the posted speed limit.
As a result, Ptl. Meisinger stopped the vehicle and a subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of the driver, identified as Richard Samartin, age 30, of Layton, NJ for possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana in his center console.
Samaratin was charged and issued the following:
N.J.S. 2C:35-10a Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance (Marijuana) Disorderly Persons
39:4-98 Speeding
39:4-49.1 Possession of a Controlled Dangerous Substance in a Motor Vehicle (Marijuana)
He was released pending an appearance in Newton Municipal Court on 11/13/18.
