John Paul Caponigro (artist/writer) and Richard Blanco (poet) will lead a special event designed to deepen and diversify your enjoyment of art with creative writing (ekphrasis). After setting the stage by reading a few famous ekphrastic writings, and showcasing a few ekphrastic publications by MMW teachers, Richard and John Paul will guide you through a series of prompts guaranteed to offer new insights now and long into the future. The brevity of poetry and hybrid micro essays make them ideal forms to explore and share your relationships with art in person, in social networks, in exhibitions, or in publications. Every form illuminates different perspectives.
