Newton 9/11 scholarships
-Discussion regarding a Newton 911 scholarship. All voted yes.
- The agreed upon amount:
1 award totaling $1,000.00
2 awards $500.00 each
-Applicants must write an 800-1000 word, single spaced essay to be considered for the scholarship
* Applicants must be a high school senior entering into higher education. Additionally, applicants must be a Newton resident and/or a student who attends Newton schools.
Review of last year:
-Successful 9/11 remembrance
-Successful marathon fundraising
Discussion of the possibility of changing banks. Better interest-rate elsewhere?
Treasures report:
Review of corporate donors and monthly donations made by Network For Good.
Planning of the 9/11 remembrance for 2022
- Invited speakers: Andrew Card, Chief Carmichael, Mayor Fuller, Seth Bai.
(others to be invited as guests but we will make it clear that they are not being asked to speak)
