Yesterday Google Reader released a new update and added many new and interesting features (such as like)to the most popular rss reader.

The followings are some features I think that can be improved maybe:
  1. Download Content, since if I choose the "Feed Content + Web Page", then it'll be very very slow. And what all I need is just the Web Page of some feeds. I think if you can add a option that which feed should be download just Feed Content and which feed should be download the Feed Content plus Web Page, it'll be better.
Because the WebPage is only needed when the feed output is not full article.
  2. If the feature that share with Notes or comments could be added to Newsrob it'll be better.
Really appreciate Your hard work.

Best Regards,

Hi Linglong,

  Regarding 1)

If you tap on the header of the article in the detail view, you will change to the web view, displayed by a small "web" in the right corner. If you tap again, you go back to the "feed" view.

To tell NewsRob to always download this representation go to Manage Feed from the article's context menu and change it to download "Feed Content + Web Page". That will also automatically open the article from this feed in the "web" view. If you don't want that you can explicitly configure the desired view in the Manage Feed dialog.

Here is some more info:  NewsRob 1.9 Preview - More Download Control

  Regarding 2)

Yes, it's on my TODO list and the new "like" feature is also on it now.

Thanks for using the mailing list. This way I can just refer to this mail in the (very near) future.

Cheers,
Mariano

Thank you very much for the answer.

And the feature that tap on the header of the article in the detail
view to change the view is really useful , and it is something that I
didn't discover by myself , Thx.

Is there a plan to allow new subscriptions to be added through newsrob?

What would also be cool, would be to add a 'share' intent so I can share non-RSS webpages direct from the browser using the 'note' feature in Reader.

Hey Mark,

yes, subscribing from within the phone is on my todo list.

Sharing links from the browser is a good idea, as is using the note feature. Will put it on my todo list now.

Cheers,
Mariano
