(Based on the recording of the telephone interview in early October
2005)
Reporter Huang Zaixin: Mr. Zhu, how are you? Could you please give some
more explication on the issue of Yan Qingxin and Zhang Qi as the true
culprits in the case of Wang Bingzhang's induced arrest? Since you
are Mr. Wang Bingzhang's secretary, you are a person whose words are
taken very seriously. The information you provide in this respect will
be very helpful and beneficial towards the rescue of Mr. Wang
Bingzhang.
Zhu Lifeng, Wang Bingzhang's secretary: The situation was like this:
We got to know Zhang Qi in April 2001. She was from the National
Security Bureau of Shenzhen City. As you know more about the
development of this matter, you will know why he was prosecuted in
Shenzhen instead of in Beijing. His people, his staff, were full of
spies from the National Security Bureau. Old Wang (Wang Bingzhang) was
overconfident. He believed that he could put these people under his
control. He knew very well that she was a spy from the authorities, but
he still get on with her very well. He was confident that he could
control those people. At that time, I remember, there were several
people on the scene, and several people from Hong Kong were there too.
Old Wang and I were there too. We talked about this thing. At that time
the situation was like this, but how could the situation had developed
this far? At that time (we were) raising money. Old Wang was anxious to
raise money. The situation was like this: we knew her identity, but she
did not necessarily know that we got the information. Generally
speaking, a situation like this was very dangerous. We should have
tried to get away from her. But Old Wang was in urgent need of fund. I
know you are a spy, but I am still getting along with you, since you
don't know that I know that you are a spy. This is what Old Wang was
thinking at that time. He used to say: we don't have guns, and we
don't have canons, but the enemy will make guns and canons for us.
This saying was quoted from CCP. We used to here this from other
people.
Huang: Since Wang Bingzhang knew that Zhang Qi was an agent, but he
still kept in contact with her. What was his specific goal?
Zhu: In my opinion, it is a matter about money.
Huang: As you mentioned back then in the radio interview, her sister
Yan Qingxin got some money in her hand.
Zhu: Correct. You want to know what was going on? Back then we faxed
something to her and raised the issue. The purpose was to get financial
support. That was probably in May 2001.
Huang: May 2001.
Zhu: Correct. There was something else. When Zhang Qi was in Thailand,
she met with somebody who was a staff member sent by the National
Security Bureau of Shenzhen City. We still keep a photo.
Huang: Actually this evidence is crucial in exposing her as a CCP spy,
because Zhang Qi has been engaged in some activities in the United
States playing the role of Mr. Wang Bingzhang's fiancée.
Zhu: Besides that photo, there is Mr. Wang Bingzhang's laptop, which
was given him as a gift by a friend of his called Ai Ran (phonetic
translation.) Somebody from Hong Kong provided the money; somebody
called You Tai (phonetic translation) gave him the money. You Tai
provided the money, and Ai Ran bought the laptop for him. They embedded
some devices in that laptop, and only one person knew how to receive
the signals. That person should be the one who sent him the computer.
This year I met with that person in Guangdong. I asked him to make a
copy for me. However, when I called him, nobody picked up the phone.
Now I have the photo. Back then I deposited it into my mailbox.
Back then Fang Yuan was responsible for contacting the people who came
from China and met with them in Vietnam. Fang Yuan was in always
contact with Wang Bingzhang during the period of Wang's induced
arrest. Before he was arrested, Wang always had Zhang Qi and Yue Wu
with him. And the people who kept contact with them were Fang Yuan and
Yan Qingxin.
Huang: So in fact these two people had been in control of the situation
all the time.
Zhu: There is something else. The people involved in the coordination
were numerous. One of them was the person who stayed with Wang; another
person was Yan Qingxin, who was in charge of remote control outside,
not the person inside. On the other hand, these three people had always
been tailed. One of the people outside was Yan Qingxin, another was
Fang Yuan, and there was another person. You probably don't know this
person. Nowadays this person's life... Now he is in contact with me;
he is in contact with another person. The people in the list (the voice
is indistinct here) we know well. Another person we know is now in Hong
Kong. I also provided information about another person. I sent him to
Vietnam, ... (inaudible here). Without criminal syndicate background,
we couldn't do it. This person has criminal syndicate background. He
stayed with Wang Bingzhang. You don't know this person. This is the
third person. Another direct evidence is the tape, and that photo.
Huang: And there is this third person. There is a Wang Bingzhang Case
Investigation Committee in the United States. They gathered some
documents relating to the process of Wang Bingzhang's incident,
conducted some detailed analysis, and came up with their conclusion. Do
you have a chance to read these documents?
Zhu: No, I haven't paid attention to that.
Huang: Some views revealed in those documents are basically the same as
yours. But what they came up with was based on an analysis of some
documents found here in the United States. If you are interested, I can
send them to you for you to take a look.
Zhu: OK, you can send them over. This photo can serve as the best
evidence.
Huang: I hope you do well in your life and in your business in the
Mainland.
Zhu: OK, thank you.
Huang: OK, Goodbye.
