The State of Philology in Present Education and Research
Rome, Sapienza University ‒ ISMEO, 14–16 December 2022
The First International Conference of the World Philology Union will discuss and describe the different activities, aims and tasks of philology in the modern world, and will publish plans on how to achieve the aims and objectives of the World Philology Union (WPU) based on the discussions. The event will also include the General Assembly.
The World Philology Union (wpu.philology.org) is an organisation for developing the science of
philology in universities and institutions of education globally. The organisation was founded the 2nd of December 2021 in Oslo by a number of leading philologists from diverse disciplines, also representing institutions and organisations of philology.
