Eagle Point Campground is located on the west shore of Schroon Lake. Camping equipment from tents to 30' RV's can be accommodated. The campground offers a variety of recreational opportunities. Schroon Lake covers approximately 4,230 acres and is approximately 9 miles in length, 1 1/2 miles in maximum width, and has a maximum depth of 152 feet. The Village of Schroon Lake has a quaint "Main Street" with shops and restaurants. The Schroon-North Hudson Historical Museum can be found here. Nearby is the Seagle Music Colony which offers plays, operas and concerts. Explore the nearby Natural Stone Bridge and Caves. Canoeing, hiking, boating, fishing and bicycling opportunities abound.

Members of the public can support DEC lands, facilities, and programs through our charitable partner, the National Heritage trust (NHT). Online giving is simple and secure and fully tax-deductible. Donations to NHT directly support projects and programs that enhance facilities, expand access to outdoor recreation and environmental education, provide public land access, and protect natural resources.

This campground has sites that have been selected for restoration. While undergoing restoration the chosen sites will be closed. For the list of sites and more information on the project visit the Campsite Restoration Project page.

Fish present include lake trout, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, northern pike, yellow perch, bullhead, and pickerel. Fishing licenses are no longer being sold at any of our campground facilities, but can be conveniently purchased on-line or by phone.

Swimming at DEC campgrounds is unsupervised by lifeguards. DEC advises those wishing to swim to access the water from the designated beach area(s) only. Beaches are maintained and patrolled by campground staff. Swimming is prohibited from one-half hour before sunset to one-half hour after sunrise.

The Eagle Point Final Unit Management Plan (UMP) (PDF) for the campground guides the DEC's land management activities at this facility for a five-year period, although a number of goals and objectives in the plan focus on a much longer time period. The UMP addresses specific objectives and actions for public use at this facility.

The land on which the campground is situated was purchased in 1928. It encompassed approximately 1 mile of shoreline on the west side of Schroon Lake and 1 mile of International Highway. Construction of Eagle Point Campground (which derives its name from a sandy point on the shore line) was started in the years 1928-1929 and eight campsites were added in ensuing years to bring the total to 72.

This is dummy copy. It is not meant to be read. It has been placed here solely to demonstrate the look and feel of finished, typeset text. Only for show. He who searches for meaning here will be sorely disappointed. These words are here to provide the reader with a basic impression of how actual text will appear in its final presentation. Think of them merely as actors on a paper stage, in a performance devoid of content yet rich in form.

Incredible wonderful staff other veterinarians around the nation need to take notice and follow suit of what All Creatures Animal Hospital does in fees and treatment of their customers I cannot say enough good things about All Creatures Animal Hospital they saved my precious Chantel who had cancer and added two and a half years to her life the surgery anywhere else would have been thousands of dollars that all creatures it was $200 thank you to everyone at all creatures.

Our entire family is grateful to the entire staff at 'All Creatures Animal Hospital", and particularly to Dr. Christy Gibbs. Dr. Gibbs who surely saved the life of Vald, our ferret. She recognized that Vald was likely suffering from an internal infection, coupled with dehydration and lack of nutrition (he wouldn't eat). But, after a couple of nights convalToday my wonderful, beautiful boy Miles kittie took his last breath on my lap with his sister beside him. I'd like to thank Dr.Leanne and Dr. Gregg and all the wonderful staff for being there for Miles and fighting the good fight with him.

Streetcar traffic began to serve the park in 1912. The Union Electric Company constructed the track, turnaround, and waiting station in the area above the park entrance where the eagle statue and flower beds are located. In 1920, a bathing beach was constructed but closed when the lock and dam was built in 1933.

Today, approximately 240,000 people visit the park each year and more than 1,200 events are held at the park. A hike/bike/walk trail, following the original trolley line trail, from Shiras Avenue to the turnaround with the large eagle statue was completed in 2010.

Grand Canyon's West Rim is the location of Eagle Point. This natural rock formation sits on the private land of the Hualapai reservation. Created by nature, rather than man, these sacred rocks are shaped like an eagle spreading its wings and has a rich history to match. It's one of the most stunning photographic opportunities due to its unique appearance and is a special point of interest for the Hualapai People. Seeing Eagle Point by air is the best way to take in the full expanse of this rock formation.

The Eagle Point area of the canyon was originally known as the "battleship" and was later renamed by one of the Hualapai people to "Eagle Point" when she saw the outline of an eagle in the rock formation. Legend has it, in the early years people once lived at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and an eagle flew down to warn the people of a great flood. As the eagle flew back up, it stayed near the top of the canyon to watch over the people. Then it turned to stone where it remains to this day. Eagle Point provides excellent views for visitors to the area. The Hualapai Tribe has spent many years working to develop the area with a lot of "must-do" attractions.

Eagle Point is home to an authentic Native American village that includes an amphitheater that allows guests to enjoy daily live musical and dance performances or lectures on Hualapai history. It's the location of the famous Skywalk, a glass bridge structure that allows visitors to "walk the path of the eagle" and step out over the Grand Canyon for a one-of-a-kind perspective 4,000 feet in the air! At Eagle Point, you'll find Native American walking tours, including replicas of authentic dwellings from a variety of Native American tribes. There's also an art and gift shop where you can pick up handmade, authentic Native American jewelry and crafts.

Maverick's Indian Territory tour will take visitors on an amazing journey out to Eagle Point where you can see this magnificent structure from the air. Your Grand Canyon sightseeing tour also provides views of beautiful Lake Las Vegas, Lake Mead, the world-famous Hoover Dam and concludes with a flight over the Las Vegas Strip.

In the mid-19th century, a rocky cliff near the location of what later became Eagle Point was a favored nesting place for eagles. An area resident, John Mathews, is said to have suggested "Eagle Point" as the name for a proposed post office in the community. The post office was established in 1872; Andrew McNeil was the first postmaster.[8]

A water-powered gristmill, Butte Creek Mill, has operated in Eagle Point for more than 125 years. Built in 1872 along Little Butte Creek, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.[8] The mill burned to the ground Christmas Day 2015. The Butte Creek Mill has been rebuilt, with the first batch of grain being sold in December 2020. On May 15, 2016, Actor Jim Belushi performed at an outdoor benefit concert for the Butte Creek Mill.[9] In 2018, Actor Patrick Duffy, a longtime Eagle Point resident signed on as the Advisory Director for the Butte Creek Mill Foundation in an effort to rebuild the Butte Creek Mill. He joins actor Jim Belushi who has been a supporter since the mill burned.[10]

The city is north of Medford and White City and south of Shady Cove in the Rogue River Valley along Oregon Route 62. Little Butte Creek, a tributary of the Rogue River, passes through Eagle Point and enters the larger stream a few miles to the west near TouVelle State Recreation Site and Upper and Lower Table Rock.[13]

This region experiences warm (but not hot) and dry summers, with no average monthly temperatures above 71.6 F (22.0 C). According to the Kppen Climate Classification system, Eagle Point has a warm-summer Mediterranean climate, abbreviated "Csb" on climate maps.[14]

A local company that I am familiar with wants to switch from Eaglepoint to Civil 3D. I know nothing about Eaglepoint, other than that it exists. I checked their website and got the impression that it is not a compteitor to AutoCAD, but a rather a supplement. This did not sound right to me.

At one point Eagle was a competitor to Softdesk. (I thihk they were both available at the same time.) These two "ADD-ON" softwares gave standard AutoCAD features that were very useful on the CIVIL stage. However, since Civil 3D (and Autodesk's purchase of Softdesk) Eagle Point has apparently gone the way of the DODO bird and now just offers some "helpful" addon for Civil 3D.
