PENSIONS REVIEW PHASE 2 - FSA AND PIA PUBLISH FINAL DETAILED POLICY
AND GUIDANCE
Following consultation, the Financial Services Authority (the FSA)
and the Personal Investment Authority (PIA) today publish a joint
statement of policy on phase 2 of the pensions review.
In addition, detailed guidance has been issued. The FSA has
published model guidance on phase 2, which is addressed to the
front-line regulators for them to adopt (with modest modification
to fit individual circumstances). PIA has simultaneously published
guidance for its members - setting out procedures to be followed by
firms carrying out phase 2 of the pensions review.
These documents are published following the announcement on 28
July of high-level decisions on phase 2 made by the FSA and PIA
Boards following consultation.
NOTES TO EDITORS:
1. Copies of the documents are available from the FSA publications
department, price #10 each, on receipt of a cheque made payable to
the FSA.
