So far there have been no arrests and no charges filed in the murder of
a south Shreveport man allegedly killed by his wife. Authorities say the
fatal shooting happened yesterday. The couple's name has not been
released. Investigators say the 28-year-old woman called 9-1-1. An
ambulance took the 40-year-old man to a hospital where he was dead on
arrival.

The search continues in Lake Pontchartrain for three people missing
since their plane crashed late last week. Divers are using sonar to
search the water bottom but they say old wreckage and pipeline on the
lake's bottom are making their search more difficult.

New Orleans Mayor Marc Morial is visiting London...where voters there
will decide next month whether to have the city's first elected mayor.
Morial likens the problems London is experiencing to the same problems
many big U-S cities have.

Later this month Louisiana's education superintendent Cecil Picard will
meet with local superintendents across the state to discuss ways to
avoid campus shootings. Many other states have recently experienced such
acts. Picard says the April 16th meeting is designed to get security
ideas from local school officials. And Picard says he has a few ideas of
his own to offer.

Governor Mike Foster is hoping to soon meet with attorneys from Harrah's
to discuss the company's suitability for operating the New Orleans land
based casino. Foster says he has several questions for Harrah's
officials.

Friday Baton Rouge Judge Janice Clark ruled the state Gaming Control
Board has the sole authority to approve the casino contract. That
decision could soon be appealed.
