Here's the latest from the UPI Sports Desk.

David Justice went 3-for-3 with a two-run homer and three RBI as the
Cleveland Indians remained the only undefeated team and completed a
three-game sweep of the Anaheim Angels with a 6-4 victory.

Damian Rhodes stopped 22 shots for his fifth shutout of the season
Sunday and Daniel Alfredsson scored as the Ottawa Senators moved four
points ahead of Carolina for the final playoff spot in the East with a
1-0 blanking of the Buffalo Sabres.

Daniel Goneau scored 84 seconds into overtime and the New York
Rangers broke their eight-game winless streak with a 2-1 victory over
the Chicago Blackhawks. The Rangers, however, were eliminated from
playoff contention.

After waiting three rounds, Gil Morgan finally made his move and
defended his title at the Tradition. Morgan fired a 2-underr 70 to
overtake a faltering Tom Wargo. Morgan finished at 12-under 276 while
Wargo wound up with a 74 and 10-under 278.

Britain's Lee Westwood won his first PGA event by firing a closing-
round 69 and capturing the Freeport-McDermott Classic by three shots.
Westwood finished at 15-under 273, three shots better than Steve Flesch.

Defending champion Alex Zanardi of Italy came from nowhere and passed
pole-sitter Bryan Herta with two laps remaining to win the CART Long
Beach Grand Prix.

Garth Lagerwey made three saves and Richard Farrer, Ted Eck and Alain
Sutter scored in a shootout as the unbeaten Dallas Burn handed the San
Jose Clash their third straight overtime loss, 3-2.

Cincinnati Reds rookie first baseman Sean Casey will undergo surgery
to correct the orbit around his left eye socket, which was damaged in a
freak accident during fielding drills before Thursday's game.

Florida State starting quarterback Dan Kendra may be lost for the
entire 1998 season. Kendra tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his
right knee during an intra-squad scrimmage Saturday.
