(COLUMBUS)-Nationwide Insurance in Columbus has elected two new
directors... and re-elected four board members... to three-year terms.
The new board members are Irv Bell of Zanesville and Yvonne Montgomery
of Atlanta. Bell is the former president of the Ohio Farm Bureau
Federation, while Montgomery is senior vice president and general
manager of southern customer operations for the Xerox Corporation. The
re-elected Nationwide board members re James Patterson of Chesterland;
Robert Steward, from Jewett; Fred Finney of Wooster; and Nancy Thomas,
from Louisville (LEWIS'-ville).

(MASSILLON)-Republic Engineered Steels Incorporated in Massillon has
announced the election of Anthony Celebrezze Jr. as a member of the
company's board of directors. Celebrezze is a Columbus lawyer and a
former Ohio Attorney General. He will fill the term of former Ohio
Governor Richard Celeste, who left the board when he became the United
States Ambassador to India. Republic Engineered Steels is a producer of
carbon and alloy high-quality engineered bar, stainless, tool steels,
and remelted specialty steels.

(CLEVELAND)-McDonald and Company Securities will represent a group of
underwriters in the Cleveland Indians' sale of public stock. The
Cleveland Indians Baseball Company Incorporated has been formed to serve
as the sole general partner in that sale. A registration statement was
filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed
initial public offering of up to four-point-six million Class A Common
Shares that are estimated to sell for 14-dollars to 16-dollars a share.
A preliminary prospectus will not be available until mid-May, with the
proposal expected to price in June.

(CANTON)-The Timken Company in Canton says it has named Deborah
Anderson as general manager of its Faircrest Steel Plant. She succeeds
Michael Hill, who has been named to the new position of general manager
of industrial bearing operations in Canton. Anderson joined Timken in
1972 as a metallurgical test clerk. The Timken Company is an
international manufacturer of highly engineered bearings and alloy
steels, with 1997 worldwide sales of more than two-point-six billion
dollars.

(CLEVELAND)-OfficeMax Incorporated says an associate professor at
Baldwin-Wallace College... Ivan Winfield... has been nominated for
election to the company's board of directors. Winfield... a retired
partner from the public accounting firm of Coopers and Lybrand... would
fill the seat being vacated by D. Dwayne Hoven, who will not stand for
reelection. Hoven was formerly chief executive of Revco Drug Stores,
which was sold to the CVS Corporation last year. The Cleveland-based
OfficeMax operates 727 full-size superstores in 48 states and Puerto
Rico.
