Forced prostitutes climb in Japan
TOKYO, April 6 (UPI) - Japan's National Police Agency reports
(Monday) the number of calls for help police receive from foreign women
forced into prostitution has more than tripled over the past year. An
NPA official says police received only four such requests in 1994 but
received eight in 1995. Nine cases were reported in 1996 and in 1997 the
number hit 32.
