Install on Debian Etch w. PHP5 and MySQL5?

Hi,
I tried the automated installer on my server, but as I'm running
Debian Etch w. Apache2, PHP5 and MySQL5 there, the installer throws
nothing but dependency errors...

Is there a way to install Newscloud on Etch? I really love the
concept, finally an alternative to pligg et.al.

Any hint is appreciated,

Jens, we haven't had the resources to upgrade NewsCloud for
Etch/PHP5/MySQL5 yet.
It's on our list.

If there are dependency issues he could try and force-things, of
course that could also cause strange results, but at least it would
bypass the dependency issues he's encountering.

(man dpkg)
dpkg -i --force-all <package>
