Positioning it all

I'm working with Nabuur.com to build a completely new, Drupal-based
site, and looking into Facebook integration options for that too.
We've got two volunteers enthousiastic about working on Facebook, so I
asked them to check out NewsRoom and see if it's fit for our ideas of
"going facebook". Let me ask a couple of first (second-hand) questions
we've got:

- There's Newscloud and a Newsroom module?

- It's a complete CMS for a Facebook application? How would you
position it with respect to the existing Drupal Facebook module?
Doesn't the breadth of your Newsroom basically make you publish a
complete website within Facebook?

- Does the system provide 1-on-1 links between Facebook users and
Drupal users (sorry, this might be in the documentation, but I'm
offline while writing this mail, so unable to check now)

- I guess it's not a lot of work to adapt the system to also produce
OpenSocial apps as a next phase?

The first feedback I get is that it looks powerful and extensive,
maybe a bit heavy; and that there is some confusion about NewsCloud
vs. NewsRoom, and the positioning (the Drupal Facebook module seems to
provide simple pages to push into Facebook, Newsroom seems to provide
a full CMS + facebook app).

We're currently investigating for Nabuur what the best way forward is,
what the user needs and the potential would be, and then also what
existing tool would be our best bet, so once more: great to see this
development to push the boundaries! And hope we can exchange some
ideas and insights!

/-- Kind regards,
/--- Rolf.

Rolf,

Thanks for your questions...

> - There's Newscloud and a Newsroom module?

The Newsroom module is a tab in the Facebook framework that supports
our API and brings topics-based news to Facebook.

> - It's a complete CMS for a Facebook application? How would you

No, it's a mini-CMS-like Facebook app.
It's designed to create a web presence on Facebook .

> - Does the system provide 1-on-1 links between Facebook users and Drupal

No, the Open source framework app doesn't talk to Drupal. You might be
confusing our Facebook Newsroom with our Drupal Newsroom module.
