Hello,

I am having a helluva time finding where my configuration file with a Snap install. The location of my URL file is ~/snap/newsboat/4028/.newsboat/urls if that provides any direction. Any help is much appreciated, really want to switch to links for the browser!

It's right next to the urls file, so
~/snap/newsboat/4028/.newsboat/config. However, Newsboat doesn't create
it; *you* have to create the file.

- From my experience with other programs, this is the common way of doing
things; Emacs, Vim, Mutt, Mcabber all behave like that. The exception
are the programs that provide some sort of configuration UI, like
Midnight Commander or GUI apps like GIMP. Those programs don't really
expect you to edit the file manually, so they manage the file
themselves. Newsboat doesn't have such UI, so it doesn't manage the
file.

Note that with a strictly confined Snap like ours, the only allowed
browser is xdg-open. Snapcraft blacklists everything else. If you want
to use a different browser, you'll have to configure xdg-open to use
that (but you still also have to configure Newsboat to use xdg-open).
We'll probably patch Snap to default to xdg-open:
https://github.com/newsboat/newsboat/issues/1476 That issue is up for
grabs by the way, so if you have time, a GitHub pull request or a patch
here will be appreciated.
