# Problem:
So, I noticed sometimes there are multiple articles in feeds.
Like the last x articles in a feed. (The older ones were never shown to me before, the last one is very recent.)
Well, first I thought errors, then I wanted to load new article I knew existed, but they didn't show up. And no entry in .newsboat/errors.
Now you might think I got blocked, but no, if I delete cache.db and reload, those feed show me the new articles. (First tested this last weekend.)
Also curl gives me the new articles too.

# Only verified on two forums:
I mainly observed that problem on forums.spacebattles.com and forums.sufficientvelocity.com
Just so you know, those two have probably similar software, because one forked from the other, because mod politics drama.
I think the problem is also on other sites, but I couldn't verify it, cause I would need to know there are new articles.

# Got worse recently:
At the moment I don't get any new articles after the first time loading them. That only happened 1-2 weeks ago.

# Additional symptom, might be unrelated
Also sometimes adding a new feed, that one stays empty no matter how often I reload it with r. That didn't happen very often, and since I started deleting cache.db I couldn't find a single feed, that wouldn't reload using r.

# If you need anything for troubleshooting, just ask
If you want my urls or cache.db with those problem, just tell me how to send it to you. (I will play around to see if that makes it easier reproduceable.)
Or how to run diagnostics you need. (Assume I am a noob, I know a little bit, just enough to be dangerous {to myself})
If you want me to create a thread and new threadmarks, I can also do this. (Can take a few hours to get spacebattle to activate a new account. Keep in mind they obviously don't like spam.)
If you want to talk in german, can do that too (but no problem to write english)
Sadly updated already today.

# What to know about my setup:
I use newsboat on termux on android.
Spacebattle has 150 feeds but only 12 active (without !hiatus tag) I still manually refresh all of them once a day or so. (newsboat -r).
Sufficientvelocity has only 6 feeds. And I just used those recently.

## Config file:
reload-threads 3
download-retries 2
reload-only-visible-feeds yes
max-items 5
define-filter "all feeds with '!hiatus' tag" "tags # \"!hiatus\""
browser "~/.shortcuts/browser.sh"
error-log "~/.newsboat/errors"
# honest trailers, one works probably url/video both work 260416
# Konico shorts might miss new content but unlikely
# Bartokanal

# General Thanks
Btw, I really love newsboat. I only installed termux to learn more command line tinkering. But after I found newsboat it replaced the android rss reader I used.
It has everything I want and while it isn't faster than the apps (connection limitation) it shows me new articles as soon as it gets them. Also I automated backup and was able to keep feeds on hiatus. I can even change the urls (and cache.db) via a script to a urls with really long abonded feeds.
I even got a (ugly, dirty) script to work, that would check for new chapters on ArchiveOfOurOwn, but I overwrote that on accident (wanted to empty .newsboat/errors) before I made a backup of the finished script -_- and was to lazy to rewrite it yet. Still have a working script that tells me to go touch grass, if I refresh within 5mins.
Anyhow nice software. Only thing I wished you would do for new users, is adding an urls on install with instructions like a readme or first steps or manpages or examples of possibilities or the -h output or... (I don't need it anymore, but I thought I could just import from an opml file, and newsboat would create the urls. I thought the opml export was defect. Wouldn't have been the first time to find out when I changed RSS reader.)

Okay, I hope I was able to explain my problems good enough. And didn't forget to finish my sentences.
I would be really happy with a fix or a workaround (can I force cache.db to dumb etags without deleting all?)

MfG
Martin
