Whenever I use newsbeuter, it always loads the last 30 stories. Whether it's been one week or three, it's always 30.
Right now I have the date 3/10 and then the last time I logged in was 2/23.

Can I load all the stories since 2/23 to ensure I didn't miss anything?

You can try increasing `max-items` to an arbitrary high number
(`max-items 100`), so newsbeuter will hold on the last 100 stories.

Some rss feeds are in the "last x items" format, so if you don't refresh
them in a longish timespan you are bound to lose stories.

Does this help?

Yeah. Sounds like your feed is publishing articles faster than you're fetching them. Most feeds only show the most recent articles. They're supposed to contain updates, not the entire feed history. The standard solution there wold be to run `newsbeuter -x reload` somewhat regularly, eg with a daily cronjob so you can fetch things more often.
