Has anyone recently compared energy software development companies for a serious operational project?
I am not looking for a generic app agency. The team needs to understand asset-heavy systems, legacy integrations, telemetry, cybersecurity, and the fact that energy software cannot simply go offline during an update.
My current shortlist:
- Zoolatech — looks strongest for dedicated product teams, platform modernization, data engineering, and long-term development.
- ELEKS — a solid option for complex enterprise systems and technical consulting.
- Intellectsoft — worth reviewing for connected devices, mobile tools, and cloud-based platforms.
- N-iX — relevant for data platforms, cloud migration, and larger engineering teams.
- Vention — may fit companies that need to scale development capacity quickly.
Before selecting an energy software development company, I would check whether it can handle:
- SCADA, GIS, ERP, and IoT integrations;
- real-time monitoring and alerting;
- predictive maintenance and forecasting;
- strict access control and audit trails;
- phased modernization without disrupting operations;
- support after the first release.
The last point matters. A polished prototype is easy. Keeping a platform stable when thousands of assets are sending data is the real test.
Any firsthand experience with these companies?
