This is a great app by a local (Berkeley) favorite Dave Winer, just
released today.
http://flickrfan.org/

You need OSX, sorry MS ppl.

Sweet little app. There's not much polish in the frontend dept, but
it's an awesome util. By default it subscribes to High Res AP Photos
feeds, but you can hook it up to you and your friend's flickr
accounts. Great for the holidays! If I'm not your friend on flickr
please let me know! ;)

I'm curious if you find it interesting. This platform stuff is really
amazing but I don't think it applies much to multimedia (at the
moment). It's tying in here with flickr and twitter which is a great
feat, but I can't imagine it tying into flash 9 or other multimedia
authoring tools, if there are any, anytime soon.

Works great, the only thing I don't know offhand is how to stop the
macbook from dimming. Surely a shortcut somewhere.
