Batch Download/Decode made EZ for Windows 3.1
*****System Requirements: MS Windows 3.1,Dos 5.0 or higher, at least
2 megs of RAM, at least 30 megs of free harddisk space if you
plan on storing graphics, and a slip or PPP INDIVIDUAL
connection to the internet that allows you to use a PERSONAL
newsreader to download from the usenet news groups.
*****EZ Decoder has been configured for Trumpet Newsreader 1.0, but
can be adapted to work with other PERSONAL newsreaders.
*****If you access the internet through a shell account such as Prodigy
or AOL,etc. a pushbutton system has been included that allows you to
use the decoders independent of the download portion of the program.
That means you can only use the decoder portion of the program.
When I first started fooling around with the encoded articles, all
anybody would tell me was that you had to decode them using a program called
uudecode.exe. That involved a lot of work and button-pushing. I decided to
put together a program to make the process as fast and complete as
possible, so that other people wouldn't have to muddle through like I did.
EZ Decoder is a combination of freeware, shareware, and a program I
wrote myself. It is designed to make downloading and decoding from the
internet usenet newsgroups faster and easier. After you start the program,
it does almost everything for you except choose what files you want to
download. EZ Decoder allows you to download and decode as many single or
multi-part uuencoded binaries (gifs, jpgs, exe, mpegs, wavs, etc.) as your
system can handle at once.
Simply mark all the parts of as many articles in as many newsgroups
as you wish to download and decode from your news reader. EZ Decoder
automatically batches them into something the decoder can recognize, decodes
them, and arranges them for viewing. If there was a problem with the
extremely fast decoder, the program allows you the option to run a
second-pass decode with a different error-correcting decoder that runs
slower. The decoded files that you chose to save are then automatically
moved to an archive directory so that the viewing area is ready for the
next batch.
Without leaving the program, you can view gifs, jpegs, dls, gls, mpegs,
avis, etc. You can listen to sound files, unzip files, and test executable
programs. And there are other convenient features that I'll let you discover.
This program has been tested and is self installing. I'll let
you have the entire package for $14.95 plus $4.95 shipping and handling for
a total of $19.90 in the United States.* What you'll receive will be two
3.5" DSHD diskettes that automatically install and configure the EZ Decoder
program. The diskettes also contain a quite extensive list of FTP addresses
for viewers and file processors that I know work well with EZ Decoder.
I am not selling shareware or freeware but a program I wrote myself
that works in conjunction with widely available and proven shareware and
freeware to save you a lot of file manipulation, button pushing, and
installation and configuration time. Just the FTP list alone took me two
days to compile and test.
EZ Decoder works with 16-bit or 32-bit windows.
You"ll also receieve printed step-by-step installation and operating
instructions. In addition, I'll be available 24hrs/day 6 days/week to
answer your questions by E-mail. Or, if you want to go to the expense, call
me at home: Randy Durham
(801)295-9782.
If you're new to the internet news groups this program removes the
confusion of downloading. If you're experienced it can free up your hands
and save you hundreds of hours every year.

P.S.: I've worked many, many long and difficult hours during the creation
and testing stages of this program and am very satisfied with the
results. Due to the overall performance of the program, I am now
offering a gaurantee. If for any reason you're not satisfied with
the value of what you receive your money will be cheerfully refunded
including shipping. That's a 100% money back gaurantee.
If you're still hesitant about this offer, keep track of how much time
you're spending figuring it out on your own. I've spent over 300 hours
writing this program.
Although I'm offerring this commercial package as an EZ way to get
started in batch downloading and decoding, I'm also here to help.
Feel free to write and ask specific questions about decoding and
downloading. I'll share what I know.

Randy,
Thanks for the help over the phone yesterday evening. The program works
just fine. It's a bargain as far as I'm concerned.
