Currently Running OSX Leopard on non Intel Power PC (G4) Mac

Currently Pissed of with inability to block ShitHead Cross Posting Troll

Wanting better KillFile functionality... Especially anti crossPosting

Any Suggestions?

In MT-NW:

Kill if 'Xref' matches the regular expression "[^ ]+ [^ ]+"

Meaning: will kill x-posts to more than 2 groups.

example: "[^ ]+ [^ ]+" = more than 2 groups
e.g; "[^ ]+ [^ ]+ [^ ]+" = more than 3 groups
e.g; "[^ ]+ [^ ]+ [^ ]+ [^ ]+" = more than 4 groups, etc etc..

Well, my first suggestion would have been to lurk for a while and
then STFW. You can start with the clue in my headers.

My next suggestion would be to adjust your attitude. Why would
anyone want to help someone who shows any indication of the
ability to turn into a ShitHead Cross Posting Troll?

In practice they are not.

If you're comfortable with the command line slrn is a solid choice.

I think you meant SeaMonkey. I thought Thunderbird just did email.

SeaMonkey makes a reasonable news reader and doubles as a web browser,
so I consider it a good choice for someone who doesn't need a dedicated
news reader.

Use Crossover and install a Windows newsreader?

Thunderbird was an e-mail client that also happens to support news
reading as an afterthought. I tried it because it came with FireFox and
I moved on to a different newsreader once I was no longer willing to
deal with its poor filtering.

Thing is, now that I've moved on to XPN with its better filtering I am
no longer motivated to install the newer Thunderbird to see its improved
filtering. I'm already using a newsreader that lets me kill posts based
on entries like number of cross posts - UseNet is a lot less noisey if
all posts to 4+ groups are killed. For certain groups I need to drop
all cross posted messages to get a clean enough single. But I've
already moved from Thunderbird to XPN.

This isn't a suggestion, just a question and a clarification.

Are you going to return to this thread with an update? Or was I
correct in my original evaluation of "drive-by"?

I thought they were called 'hit-'n'run posters'. :-)

Nah! The 'hit' bit never applies! :-)

Perhaps he's taken to heart your 1st suggestion (about lurking for a
while and then STFW).

Probably the season (the getting hammered into spending more than you
can ever possibly ever want to time of the year).
