If you could be more specific, maybe someone could help you.

When viewing an image larger than the screen, clicking the arrows in
XNews does not have the same effect as for example in TB. In TB the
screen moves at regular steps. In XNews it moves the cursor on the lines
of text, with the result that you cannot scroll down to see the image. I
find the cursor in the screen I am viewing unnecessary anyway, and
slightly annoying when reading a text message, but that is secondary.
What I really would like to do was move a big image on the screen by
using the keyboard rather than the mouse. I hope I am clearer now.

A lot of the time when viewing an image in xnews the scroll bars don't
work properly. What you have to do is do a restore and then a maximize
on the window to get them to work again. That is click the middle top
right button twice.

Yes, much clearer.
Press the Space bar to step down the image until you see the filename at
the bottom. Press Space again to go to the next unread file (same as /).
If you turn Scroll Lock on, you should be able to scroll the whole page by
holding the Down arrow.

Well, I am not sure if my Dell Inspiron has a Scroll Lock key. I do not
see it anyway. How can I turn Scroll Lock on?

No, that's sysrq. Scroll lock is beside it.
Keep in mind that there are several functions in Xnews that
behave strangly with the Scroll Lock set.

On my Dell Inspirion (1420) the Scroll Lk is Fn+Num Lk.

In theory, theory and practice are the same.
In practice they are not.

Keep in mind there are several functions in Xnews that behave
strangely, period.
Otherwise, I don't think there is a more perfect usenet *text* client
on the planet.
If only Luu Tran would fix its anomalies... (and let us know about them
in advance) :-D
Have a Happy (merry if posible) Christmas, Mike.

Strangely consistent from within the confines of Xnews's seemingly
random crashes ;-)

Red perhaps? I try to avoid the sun at this time of year. Approximately
32 deg. C. (about 90 deg. F.) today. Glad to say that I'm living in one
of the cooler climate areas of Aussie (Blue mountains region, NSW).

Strangely enough, it's around 32 deg here, too.

White natch - reflects more light.

Not minus 32, I hope? - Somehow, 0 deg. C. doesn't sound quite so bad.
Saw some forest scrub burning, out of Katoomba this afternoon (near to
where I live)... the weather reports says rain is immanent, so I'm
hoping that we get a cooler dampened down Christmas.
Have a good one, Mike.
Katoomba? GIYF?

I've noticed heaps of red this season (but not sun block): shop
assistants seem to favour it, red t-shirts or red pointy hats with
white trimming, or a combo of both.
Sun-block I couldn't say. Not living anywhere near a beach perhaps has
something to do with that ;-)
Have a great Chistmas, Chuck

No, +32. We're having a warm spell. It should drop to the high
teens within a week or two.

I've been to the Blue Mountains, but they were in Virginia at the
time. I've also been to the Green Mountains in Vermont.

Not to mention "purple mountains' majesty".
You remind me that after over 40 years, I still miss New England...

A bit late with my reply, but you too.
