I have been using xnews for awhile and all of a sudden Im getting 0 unread
for almost all groups and it is showing 0 files when I open the group. Is
there a way in the settings to change this.

It is possible that some of the groups have been reset on your server.
Try selecting a group and do a Cntl-F9 (Clear Read and Keep) to reset
the group before opening it. Then see if any recent articles are
shown. I have seen cases where numbering for new articles re-started
at "2" while older articles have large article numbers. This really
screws up virtually all news readers.
