Is rslight working fine with a local or a distant INN2?
Rslight can be simply installed on a machine and Apache* on another machine?

* without a proxy on Apache

Yes, I use a distant NNTP server and don't run my own.

rslight itself is just php stuff and a background job that send/polls
via NNTP.
To make it accessible, you need a web server that can handle php (e.g.
apache, nginx etc.).
It should be possible to run a proxy on another machine and connect to
the rsl machine, if you need that.

rslight can use a local or distant nntp server (inn2, another rslight, etc.) for synchronization. Communication is as MODE READER. rslight contains it's own news server (running on php), and can also run standalone as simply a local forum. You can connect to this news server with a newsreader if you wish.

rslight runs fine on Apache as long as Apache is set up to server php scripts. It also runs fine on nginx, and in the past I have run it on lighttpd (even on Synchronet web server). It's just .php scripts.
