I guess all of the millions of people subscribing to this service will
have to do without any newsgroups which your little ones may find
offending.
As an alternative, may I respectfully suggest that you do your job as a
parent and leave the rest of us alone. I have raised two kids without
having to tell the rest of the world the censor itself and you might try
it too!

could you please tell me how to take all of the garbage (porno)
references off the newsgroup postings? I feel it is unnecessary to have
it listed in the first place, especially as it makes many referance to
teen and preteen sexual exploits and photos. I have many children that
fall into those catagories and feel it is an invasion of their right to
use this server when this kind of garbage surfaces. Can you just
forward this junk to one of the servers that "specializes" in this
depravity or what? I was under the impression that this server was a
wholesome place to be and a decent tool for children to use. Was I
mis-informed. I hope not.

A good parent should enlighten their children to the fact that the world
is made up of people with widely divergent views and belief systems. It
sounds like you'd rather stick your neck in the sand than discuss in an
honest and frank manner with your children your real concerns about
their exposure to objectionable material.

More to the point, warn children of the disturbing images that appear on
the Net (e.g. the sexual exploitation of women and children). You're
fooling yourself if you think they're not going to make every attempt to
seek out exactly those websites their parents consider taboo.
