Depends on the person wearing the badge. If they're a dumb, mean person,
then they're a dumb, mean cop. There used to be one in Carpinteria that
everyone called "Officer Dickhead". I've known others who were terrific

Back when I was a teen, there was a state trooper who had a thing going
with one of the local teen hangouts, a drive-in burger joint and most
importantly its parking-lot, and one night a couple of the d00ds from that
crowd went all over their small town or really village spray-painting
"[HIS NAME] SUCKS" on a variety of vertical surfaces, stop-signs, etc.,
and the next night he roared into the lot and hauled off several
cruiser-loads of putative malefactors all of whom had to be released and
he got put on desk-duty for awhile.
It was hilarious.
