I'm proposing alt.tv.small-wonder as a forum for discussion of
everyone's favorite syndicated sitcom, "Small Wonder" (starring Dick
Christie, Tiffany Brissette, Emily Schulman, and others.)

Topics that could be discussed include:

* Why did Vicki *always* wear the same dress, until last year?

* Which of the two versions of the theme music is better--the
Smurf-style "la la la la la la" one, or the funkadelic disco-synth one?

* Why did it take three people to write that theme, anyway?

* Since star Dick Christie has recently been directing as well
as acting, could he be the next William Shatner? Is his hair as
entertaining as Shatner's?

* Does Vicki use a 68030 or an i386 processor?

* Isn't it amazing how the kid who plays Jamie looks like the
guy who plays Ted even though they're not really father and son?

* Where did the pool go, after the episode where Vicki saves
Harriet from drowning?

* Are they really using a live studio audience and no laugh
track at all? It sounds that way, unless they have a special laugh
track of all seven-year-olds laughing their butts off.

* When will Vicki reach puberty?

I am going to assume that you aren't being serious. (You aren't being
serious, are you?) I saw one episode of Small Wonder, and that was more
than enough for me. Yeech! What a terrible, sappy, saccharine show.
It should be taken out back and shot.

However, the questions you propose are very appropriate, and IMHO
absolutely hysterical. This show has to be the worst thought-out,
yicky show in history.

Unfortunately, it seems that they ARE being serious.

I agree with you. When I first saw the original post, I almost
did a reply like you did questioning the seriousness of the original
proposal.. I was half asleep at the time so I decided not to in case I
got too harsh.

I do think the "Small Wonder" is a very good example of the
BAD uses of first run syndication.
