Now that Google Groups advanced search has been grossly broken for
weeks, so that it's virtually impossible to find articles on a
given topic, hence nearly impossible to use such a search to find
an appropriate newsgroup for posting on a topic of particular
interest, I'm thinking it would be a good idea if I implement, as
part of
http://TinyURL.Com/NewEco, an easy way for users to post
questions as to "which newsgroup for this topic" and then others
get paid (labor credits, not real $money$) to answer those
questions. This would give incentive for people who know the
answers to spend the extra few minutes to answer each, which would
be more efficient than a newbie posting such a question to
news.groups.questions and hoping some good samaritan will volunteer
a reply for free. And if anybody can produce a search engine that
answers such questions automatically, and script it to interface to
NewEco, that search-engine author could make a *lot* of profit
(again labor-credits, not real $money$) on a continuing basis for
that initial investment in software development.
Does anybody else think this might be a useful service, and wish to
encourage me to go ahead and implement it and then let you-all know
about it?
