Spews,

I posted in another forum but looks like it should have been here
mti/eloansites/eleadz is not hosted on our block or by us

the block that is listed is 208.179.142.0/22
but our block is 208.179.142.0/24 and was allocated to us by pajo.com
in 2000

If you can remove our IP block from the listing thank you, if not and
I need to talk to one of our bandwith providers lat me know so I can
start calling or make arrangements to move service. Thanks in advance
for your time.

Your upstream ISP appears to be:

=============================================================================
OrgName: The Pajo Group
OrgID: PAJO
Address: 700 Wilshire Blvd
Address: 6th floor
City: Los Angeles
StateProv: CA
PostalCode: 90017
Country: US
NetRange: 208.179.0.0 - 208.179.255.255
CIDR: 208.179.0.0/16
=============================================================================

They are the ones you need to talk to about this. Let them know that since
it is THEY who are listed, it is THEY who have to address the problems FIRST.
And THEY have to terminate ALL their spammers. Given the size of the list
and the length of time they have been listed (ever since I started keeping
track of SPEWS listings in July 2002), I suspect they will do nothing about
the problem, and the listings will remain. If that is true, your best course
of action would be to get ready to move to a clean ISP. You don't want to
be associated with these spammer supporters.

Here are the current SPEWS listings that match their address space:

You aren't listed. Pajo is. You don't own your IPs, you've been leased
them. You're on a toxic waste dump.

Tell Pajo to clear up their listing. Good luck.

As you may already know, SPEWS won't reply. However, I'm sure a
bunch of us will comment and give some suggestions. Here's my
bit.

First, this is the SPEWS listing that affects you:
1, 208.179.143.5, eloansites.com
1, 208.179.143.214, mortgages911.net
1, 208.179.143.130, eloansites.com
1, 208.179.143.214, absolutelyaffordable.net
1, 208.179.143.226, mortgagestoremedford.com
1, 208.179.143.0/24, pajo.com (eloansites.com)
1, 208.179.142.0/22, pajo.com (eloansites.com)

Yeah, that whole thing. What has happened is that SPEWS started
off just listing particular spammers. Then, when pajo.com did
nothing to get rid of the spammers, SPEWS decided to list
208.179.143.0 - 208.179.143.255 (that's what the "/24" means).
When the spammer STILL seemed to be on pajo.com, SPEWS expanded
the range to 208.179.140.0 - 208.179.143.255 (which is what the
"/22" means), if I got my binary math right. That means,
your block of IPs is included in that listing, and that
mti/eloansites/eleadz IS the cause of your problems, as pajo.com
owns all of those IP addresses (you just lease from them).

SPEWS is a database of IPs and, especially, spam friendly ISPs,
which mail servers use to decide if incoming mail should be
blocked. It is basically a spam-ISP boycott or quarantine
list, and you are in a bad neighborhood, according to SPEWS.

You've got problems with pajo.com, who seem to be acting pro-spam.
Complain to them. Try to get them to get rid of the spammers. If
you can't do that, then ask for a refund and leave. If you can't
get a refund, leave anyways and find a more reputable service. If
you can't do that, find a reputable offsite mail service (smarthost)
to handle your mail. Good luck.

Thanks for the follow ups. I figured that I would have to talk to pajo
about it. They have been good about spam in tha past, at least that I
have seen. I am contacting them today and will ask for followup emails
regarding this.

Does S2072 say that it is? AFAIK, it is Pajo that is listed, not you.

>but our block

It's not your block. You need to talk to Pajo about the listing. The
way it works is that if a provider fails to act on complaints, SPEWS
escalates the listing. If a provider moves new spammers in, SPEWS
escalates the listing.

>If you can remove our IP block from the listing

The only times that I've seen them cut a hole in a listing were when
someone posted a timetable for leaving a rogue provider.
