I would like to introduce you to a new server Panther and I are setting up:
Asarian-host.org:
As the name suggests, we host asarian services. We think it is high time we
started a server completely dedicated to asarian interests. All services
will be provided to all asarians. What do we do? In short: we endeaver to
further the victim's survival by offering typical computer-related
services, such as anonymous email-addresses, home-pages, and the
publication of asarian literature, the least of which not being Asarian
Poetry. Furthermore, we would consider this an 'Open Policy Statement,' in
that the services we provide are not are just limited to the
aforementioned, but we will adjust our services according to the need for
them as time progresses. In the most general of terms we can state, that
whatever is beneficial to survivors, made known to us, and within the realm
of our possibilities, will probably become part of our policy, or already
is. People are therefore strongly encouraged to come up with suggestions,
ideas, or any other information that might help.
The principal reason for the demise of the Common Decency Act, is perhaps
that it would severely interfere with several legitimate purposes to roam
the Internet anonymously. Being an asarian is one of those. We therefore
offer anonymous email addresses, free of charge to all who request it,
provided there are no legal impediments. Email sent through your regular
ISP will reveal part of your identity, such as return-path, domain name,
IP, etc. A common way to avoid detection of your identity is the use of a
series of anonymous remailers, or certain web-based services. These
services, especially remailers, require, however, a fairly profound
knowledge of computers, and are tedious to set up. Asarian-host.org, with
its own server, provides a far more simple way. When you have an account at
Asarian-host.org, you can simply continue to use your favorite email Cli
ent, using the following mail servers:
pop.asarian-host.org
smtp.asarian-host.org
An account will then look like:
Johndoe <us...@asarian-host.org>
We take care of the rest. From the header of every message that comes
through our email account, we will strip all relevant identification marks,
and substitute those fields with a message, saying:
"Suppressed by Asarian-host.org for security reasons."
That should provide more than enough safety, as you will be untraceable
through the messages you send. For those who need it, we will also offer
built-in regular PGP-encryption. PGP-mail is not yet implemented, but the
regular email service is fully operational. If you wish to open a free
account with us, be sure to fill in the appropriate form at our site ("Get
Account").
In general, you could say, that we are willing to invest time, energy, and
money in this project for the sole purpose of helping asarians, but
precisely this constricted purpose makes us less prepared to put up with
improper use of our Services. For instance, while we will gladly go the
extra mile to help out asarians setting up their home pages, anonymous
email accounts, and other things they might need, we would, however,
rigorously remove such sites when we were to discover that they were being
used for the promotion of warez (illegal software,) and other intolerable
practices.
A final note. While the internet is surely being used to spread materials
such as child pornography, we would like to think that it can also be used
for those who fell prey to the offenders, so we may spread a contrary
message of our own. If even one of those messages were to originate from
our site, then no statement of ours could better word the intent of this
site.
If you have any suggestions, ideas, etc, please, feel free to contact us:
