Heinrich Boell Foundation and CEE invite you to a Roundtable Discussion on Energy Transition in India? Exploring the German Energiewende
Venue: YASHADA, Near University Circle, Baner Road, Pune - 411 007
Date: 1 March 2014
Energiewende (German for 'energy transition') is currently one of the most ambitious concepts for transforming a country's energy system from a fossil fuel basis towards renewable sources. Germany has over the past years designed policies on the reduction of fossil fuel use, climate protection, a phase-out of nuclear power and the scale-up of renewable energies for a sustainable development of its energy regime. The final goal is the full electricity shift towards renewable energy sources supported by energy efficiency while ensuring energy security for the economy, creating green jobs and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Heinrich Boell Foundation (HBF) and Centre for Environment Education (CEE) invite you to a round table discussion with different stakeholders on the various technology options and policy measures for renewable energy and energy efficiency as well as their implications in India. These roundtable discussions will take place in Kolkata, Bangalore, Pune, Ahmedabad and Delhi.
The discussion in Pune is focused on ‘Renewables-based decentralized energy systems - role in India's Energy Transition, and the need for community engagement, capacity building and education’.
We look forward to your presence at this discussion.
