Meeting notes (sorry they're so late!)

Hey!!

Here are the notes from our last meeting. Sorry for the delay.

Space Update Still looking for a good space. Continue to ask everyone you know about this all the time! we have tools and volunteer power to fix or create a space. Where can we do this? Could we split a space with another organization, like the iron rail? How would we generate enough income to pay rent?

Class Updates Most classes on the calendar are going well. However, a few may not be happening at all, or may not be happening at the times we have listed. How do we stay on top of these changes?

Internet Stuff  Congratulations to our new Social Media Coordinator, Aviva! Update that Facebook girl! Also, Steven has kindly offered to help out with the google calendar and class listings on the blog. Hillary will continue to do email and some blog stuff.

New Calendar Format We want to go to a two month format, and a larger size, 11X17. We want it to be easily foldable and we want it to include a disclaimer that while we promote a safe learning environment, we do not screen our teachers and are not responsible for the content of the classes or the behavior of the facilitator.

Free School 101 We need someone with a videocamera.

Fundraising Aviva will research online fundraising methods like indiegogo, kickstarter and wepay.com. Carmen will investigate spanging. The rest of us will try to think of a good jazz fest hustle. We are down to 100 bucks yall! OH MY GOSH Lara had the best idea for a science fair fundraiser. More on that next meeting!

Class Criteria Any class asking for donations will go on our free school calendar. No class will be turned away unless it is not actually free. How do we maintain safe spaces for our classes? How do we ensure quality facilitation?

Proposal Form Hillary is doing the first revision on this and bringing a draft to the next meeting.

Next Meeting Tuesday April 9th 7:30 PM at Rouse's in CBD

p.s. we got calendars. who wants em? is it too late to make mail them worth it? I kind of think so. Anyone want to go flyering with me on Sunday?
