7/12 Meeting Notes

Present: Hillary, Aviva, Mike, Kate, Tyrus

Calendar: The calendar for august looks like it will be pretty empty, so to justify the cost and effort of mailing them out, we have decided to include class proposal forms, possibly the FAQs and teacher evaluation forms for current teachers. We are also going to make a better effort to hand deliver calendars to certain key locations, where people have come to expect calendars to be available. Mike is making a list of those locations and doing the delivery this month. In addition, we would like to deliver calendars to all the library branches. We are investigating the best way to do this.

 

Freret Neighborhood Center: NOFSN will be meeting with some one from FNC next week to talk about ways we can support each other.

 

Crescent City Radio: Someone from Loyola has invited the NOFSN to come on their sunday night show to plug the organization, answer some questions and so on. The show is Sundays from 8 to 10pm. More details to come.

 

Bank: NOFSN opened a free business account at Whitney Bank. Aviva is the primary signer, Hillary is the online adminstrator and Aviva, Esther and Hillary will be getting debit cards to access the account. These cards will be shared as needed. It is possible to add other signers in the future, however in order to do this, all current signers also need to be present.

 

Fundraising: The Punk Rock Takeover will be hosting a fundraiser at the big top in honor of the NOFSN on August 19th. We should all help to flyer and get the word out about this however we can.
