Though I'm REPLYING to both neworleans.info AND neworleans.general,
the message to which I'm replying was posted ONLY in neworleans.info
As I said, it does work.

It works (as far as posting is concerned anyway) whether your server
carries a group or not. I've always known that. I'm replying to your
message FROM neworleans.info ALTHOUGH I'm cross-posting to both
neworleans.info and neworleans.general Check the headers and you'll
see it is posted to both groups.
You may not be able to see it, BUT IF you cross-post a message to a
group that your server DOES CARRY and then cross-post it to a group
that your server does not carry, it will still show up in the other
group anyway whether you can see it or not.
That was what many people couldn't understand about local.gnofn
ONLY the Greater New Orleans Freenet carries local.gnofn You can not
read OR post to it if you're not a member of the Freenet UNLESS you
post a message to a group like (for example) neworleans.general and
then CROSS-POST the same message to local.gnofn Then it will show up
in both.

Well, not ALWAYS. I don't think I was born with the knowledge, but I
have known if for a long time. (g)
