French Quarter Hotel

If anyone could comment on the type of neighborhood or the motel
specfically stated below in New Orleans it would be appreciated. I will

be travelling to New O. in Nov and couldnt get a hotel in the French
Quarter and thus had to stay at the Empress Hotel which is only 2 blocks

outside the quarter. I do understand though, that neighborhoods can
change quickly from 1 block to the next. The motel is:

Empress Motel
Located on the corner of Ursulines Ave & Treme St.

Any comments on that area?
