I saw this on Mari Smith's blog today, via a Twitter message. I have set up notifications for all my main pages to se how it works.

If you have a Facebook page ( or several) this could be a good way of monitoring the activity there.

Often when businesses set up a Facebook fan page they don't necessarily have the time to monitor the page regularly for fan activity. Notifications of fan posts and comments would be ideal for so many small businesses and/or new fan page owners.Fan page notifications have been sorely missing on

Hey Doug!

I just switched over to the new biz page layout - I like it - and supposedly (though I see a lot of chatter to the contrary right now)...part of what comes with this switch are notifications of activity on the page...one of the reasons I made the switch - also I guess ALL pages will be automatically switched in March, but you can do it now on your own if you want to be an early adopter...

Yes, I saw that in the descriptions and new features wakthrough when I made the switch earlier today. Notifications will be nice, for sure.

I like the design a lot better. It seems less cluttered and gets more info "above the fold".

yep, me too!

I can't get my welcome page to be the default - but as my friend said, give it a day or two, probably just a glitch.

They might have changed the way they set the default in the new setup.

it still has settings:  default - which I changed from "wall" to "welcome" and hit "save", but it doesn't work, in the past though if I give it a day or so - it will usually eventually kick in.

That functionality was just rolled out for Facebook pages along with a bunch of other great functionality. I can now interact on other facebook pages as my page instead of as myself. Also, get notifications when anyone interacts with any of the pages I admin. It's a page admins dream!

The hyper alerts app is great for keeping track of pages you are not an admin of but I'm pulling down most of the alerts I set up because I'm suddenly getting double alerts.
