Sr. Rebecca Shinas, OP, will facilitate an all-day young adult retreat at the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose Mother house day reflecting on why some people claim to experience God’s love deeply, while others feel so distant from God that they even wonder if God exists. Sister Shinas is a composer, prayer leader, artist, storyteller, and singer and is currently the Director of Adult Spiritual Formation at St. Simon parish in Los Altos.

“Living in the Present Moment” Much of Jesus' ministry centers on the choices we have in the now, on being still to gain clarity, on actively embracing love over fear, and on learning to see difficult or challenging moments with new eyes. His teachings and parables offer insights on how to get closer to God's Eternal Presence in the Present. In this retreat day we will spend time looking at these teachings, discussing how we react, and how our choices impact our lives.
