Hello. I own a Windows Vista and am using Firefox, but when ever I go
into a room everything loads but there's no people or anything. All
the buttons are also unclickable and don't do anything. Some help
would be nice. Thanks.

WindowsVista Problem solution!!

As newlively client could not be run in Windows Vista (English
Version, 32bit), we have reviewed and diagnosed this specific system.
Finally, we discovered two main issues which caused this problem:

(1) Windows Vista: User Account Control (UAC) levels cut down on the
newlively application.
(2) Windows Vista: system default appears font is not suitable for
newlively GUI system.

To solve above issue and run newlively client successfully, the
following instruction helps:

Step1: Disable User Account Control
There are three ways to disable UCA
(1) Press “ WIN ” + “ R ” button --> type “msconfig.exe”-->
click“Tools”---> Disable UCA --> Launch --> restart PC ( this
solution may cause system security safety, No recommend)

 (2) Clicking “Computer” by mouse left button --> Manage --> Local
Users and Groups --> Users --> Double click “Administrator” --> tick
off “account is disable” -->switch to “administrator” account-->run
newlively again

 (3) Press “ WIN ” + “ R ” button --> type” C:\Program Files
\NewLively”(suppose your newlively client is installed at Local disk
C: ) --> Press mouse left button on “lyinux.exe” --> click “run as
administrator” --> using newlively user name and password to login --
> type www.newlively.com in address bar

Step2: Set a newlively suitable Font in WindowsVista
This is only necessary when entering newlively scene and UI do
not display.

 Press “Win” + “R” button --> type ”Control Panel\Personalization”
--> Windows Color and Appearance --> Advance --> Set "Message Box",
"Active Title Bar", "window", "Active Window", "Inactive Window" to
Font "SimHei" --> click "ok" and run newlively client again

We sincerely thank Dr.ice and Femek's support for helping us to
optimize user experience, any comments and suggestions by our user are
always welcome. we will make newlively more friendly ASAP.

Best regard, Bowen

I've heard many reports that VISTA is not working. So your options
seem to be to either wait until Newlively is made compatible with
Vista, or UPgrade to Windows XP which works quite well.

Oops! I was too quick with my reaction. I hadn't read Bowen's
suggested temporary bypass yet.

Hello,

Just a heads up ...

My operating system is Windows Vista, and my browser is Internet
Explorer.

I tried the suggestions above, and it appears I still cannot use
Lively.

Sorry, I should also describe my symptoms.

Using Internet Explorer, I arrive in a Lively World and cannot move.
None of the buttons are clickable.

The same thing happens with the lyinux workaround as described above.

I assume also that you cannot make your avatar until you are inside of
a world. Am I right?
