Hey everyone, I'm glad I found you! I was watching a talk by Uncle Bob at Yale, had no idea there was a programmer group here in CT, and I wanted to introduce myself. I have an ulterior motive! ;)

Former Microsoft employee, was in ERP support, particularly OLTP performance tuning and release management. My biggest shipped product was Half-Life back in '98, and I've delivered a number of ERP solutions to customers in the partner space for years.

My background in programming comes from the mid 80s starting with Heath by Zenith computers, Apple ][ and then finally an IBM PC XT. I wrote a simple game in GWBASIC and then later on learned PASCAL at a local community college, but never followed that route, really.

In the 90s was a gamer and hosted LAMP based web sites for friends, moved into OOP with C# 1.0, although I'd dabbled in Java before that a little. These days I'm mostly writing CPP or Node with a heavy emphasis on data layer... thus my ulterior motive!

I've recently been working on continuous integration using MEAN on Azure Web App. I've been fairly successful with this, but I've been looking for people to chat with about writing custom Express server scripts to handle data API routing, views, and the like.

I live down in Norwalk, I moved here from Seattle about three years ago, I have a lot of family around Hartford (my dad was originally from CT, but met my mother in WA after Vietnam), and I'm fairly certain there's a few Stackpoles found on the Yale alumni rosters if you go back far enough, we're a colonist family from Wales originally.

Most of the friends I've made so far have been in the gaming community, particularly the League of Legends group in NYC, I've been looking for more, shall we say... "technical" friends, and I feel like I could learn so much from all of you! I'm going to make sure I check out the Meetup events and hopefully I'll meet some of you soon!

Thanks for reading,

Looking for help,

I need help designing a Sound Module for my Home Page so that web site visitors can reproduce a the limited range of sounds.
Creating & placing these Sound Modules on my website Home Page is the hart of the problem for me.

I've already designed 95% of the web site to include: the Color Schemes, Logos, etc. that will be needed for the web site.  I do not require anything complex.  Simplicity & functionality are all that is required.  I only need advice/help designing the Sound Module needed to reproduce the sounds.
Willing to pay a reasonable fee for services rendered.

Hi Gee,

I may be able to help. I've done some work with audio and javascript/typescript. You can take a look at www.structuredpracticejournal.com to see my latest work.

Let me see if I understand what you're looking for correctly:

You already have a website built out, but you need help with some audio.

When you say you want the users to be able to reproduce a limited range of sounds, are you talking about audio recordings, or do you want the website to actually create the sounds?

Are the sounds variable? In other words, do the options the user has change over time?

What kind of display do you need? Waveform? Something else?

As far as payment, are you looking for a set price or would you be willing to consider an hourly rate?

Thanks very much,
-Mark Flegg
