Help us stop the Mayor’s proposal.

The Mayor’s office just announced a $9.4 million budget shortfall for fiscal year 2011-12.  Yesterday FERP learned the mayor is considering a proposal to lease a large portion of East Rock Park to the town of Hamden for 99 years for $5.1 million to help fill the budget hole.  East Rock Park has been a treasured resource of New Haven’s for nearly two hundred years.  This ill-considered, short-term solution will be at the expense of the well-being of our communities for decades to come.   Please help us stop this ill-considered proposal in its tracks.   1.
