Subject: Rock to Rock - Including Festival at East Rock - Saturday April 21st!
Lisa,
Could you please share information about the Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride with our SoHu Neighbors?
Thanks,
Joel Tolman

Hi SoHu friends,
I'd love to see our amazing neighborhood out in force at the 4th Annual Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride on Saturday, April 21st! Perhaps we could even create a SoHu team? Keep reading, or get all the details at www.rocktorock.org.
Here's how it works. You and a few hundred of our neighbors travel by bicycle from West Rock and East Rock, with celebrations on both sides of the city. Along the way, eat tasty food, hear great music, take on environmental service projects, and explore our city's parks and neighborhoods. All are welcome. Families and college students, serious riders and weekend warriors are all part of Rock to Rock. Choose between 8-, 20- or 40-mile routes. You can sign up here.
While we ride, we support a healthier, greener New Haven. Registration fees go to support the five Rock to Rock organizing partners -- including the Urban Resources Initiative, who helped us plant all the trees along our streets. If you decide to collect pledges, you can choose to support any of 21 different local environmental groups (I'm partial to Common Ground, but all the groups involved are doing awesome work).
If you're not a cyclist, you can still join in the fun. Rock to Rock ends at East Rock Park. Starting at 1pm, we'll be celebrating at College Woods with the State Street Farmer's Market, a Picnic for the Planet organized by The Nature Conservancy, live music from CT Folk, a bunch of great food vendors, children's games, and more.
You don't even need to ride to set up a fundraising page and collect pledges; just go to https://www.firstgiving.com/commongroundct/rocktorock2012. Or you can choose to pledge a rider from one of the Rock to Rock teams.
I'm excited, and hope to see many of you out on the 21st!
take care,
Joel from Clark St.
