Hello, early Adventures supporters!

I've been doing a bunch of behind-the-scenes work since I first wrote
about the project idea, so I wanted to give you an update.

For one thing, I've built a new web site: http://bit.ly/zTYD71

It's a beta site. If the fundraising campaign is successful, I have
an offer for a tailor-made, more functional Drupal site. This site is
basically a blog to use through the campaign. You can check out the
first blog post and about pages and tell me what you think.

Sharing the link via your social media is very helpful. The project
is @NewGiving and I'm @nj140 on Twitter.

I'm nearly 99% certain that I will not run the campaign on
Kickstarter. They're amazing, but the founders of http://startsomegood.com/
contacted me directly and are offering a higher level of support and
partnership to make the campaign and the project a success. Start
Some Good focuses on social entrepreneurs, which is a better fit than
Kickstarter's focus on art and design. I'm already a certified
"Venture" at Start Some Good, and I'm finalizing a new PayPal account.

I'm gearing up to shoot the campaign video on Monday. Speaking of
video, there are a couple of production houses taking interest in
supplying editing services while I'm on the road.

What I'm hoping for now is that a smart designer will volunteer to
create a logo in exchange for a sponsorship credit. Do you know anyone
who might fit that bill?

I heard from a potential corporate financial sponsor today. I
probably shouldn't spill the beans while they deliberate, but it's
still very exciting. The Adventure will have more impact if I can run
it on a $20K+ budget, so sponsorships will be key. If you have any
leads, please let me know.

And, finally, I've had about 5 pre-pledges for financial support once
the campaign is up and running, including one for $500!

So, the Adventure seems to have legs. Thanks again for joining this
weekly update list. I really appreciate the support.

Cheers,

NJ
